For the second year running, Morrison Brothers Music has been voted by Mississippi residents as the Best Place to Buy Musical Instruments in the Jackson Free Press's Annual "Best of Jackson" issue!
Many thanks to our customers and voters for this honor. We've worked hard for the Mississippi musical community, and are proud to accept this award. Says the Jackson Free Press:
I've got a confession to make. Sometimes I like to crank the music in my car and rock out "Welcome to the Jungle" fantasizing about my imaginary life as a rock star. But then I snap back to reality and rush to get my son to Cub Scouts.
But it's never too late to strap on a guitar or pick up some drumsticks. Morrison Brothers Music offers lessons in everything from the piano and guitar to the drums, violin and fiddle. With an abundant supply of drums, keyboards, drum components, DJ equipment, and band and orchestra pieces to choose from, and the equipment to record it, you really do not have an excuse for hiding your inner artist.

The "Best of Jackson" issue has been running for several years, and is a reader-elected list of the best restaurants, retail stores, artists, musicians, and many other categories. In 2011, the Best Place to Buy Musical Instruments category was added, and Morrison Brothers Music won then as well.
The award ceremony was held at the historical, and recently renovated, King Edward Hotel in downtown Jackson on Sunday, January 29th. The 20s-Era-themed party was attended by Morrison Brothers employees Bobby Andrews and Jason Stanfield, who accepted the award on the store's behalf.
Again, we thank the city of Jackson, the state of Mississippi, the Jackson Free Press, and everyone who voted for us. We look forward to many years of serving the south. Stay tuned for how to vote next year!
